The
Pilot Whale Bed & Breakfast exudes country charm and homespun hospitality.
Feel right at home as you enter this magnificent log home with knotty pine
interior and cathedral ceilings. Our B&B is located on Bazile Road,
in St. Joseph du Moine, just 10 minutes south of the village of Cheticamp.
A spectacular view of the lake can be enjoyed from the spacious sitting
room where guests relax in front of a towering 12-foot marble fireplace,
crafted by owner, John Power. Large sundecks offer a variety of scenery
- wide open spaces, green rolling hills and a cool, quiet brook that winds
its way to the sea. Each of the three queen sized guest rooms wrap you
in a feeling of hominess and relaxation. Tastefully decorated and immaculately
kept, the guest rooms have private baths and one has a whirlpool to rest
your tired bones after a fun-filled adventure in the area. After a restive
dip in the whirlpool, you may lounge around in the TV room which has in-house
movies to pass the evening or enjoy our other guests’ stories and accounts
of their travels. You will appreciate a sizzling
hot country breakfast to prepare you for another day trip or excursion
in the village or in the National Park. Enjoy our delicious French toast,
served with real maple syrup or homemade strawberry jam. From the breakfast
table, watch cows grazing in the pasture, pheasants strutting in the field
or deer drinking at the stream. The Pilot Whale Bed & Breakfast was
designed and built by John, using local materials and craftspeople. Indeed,
it proudly sits as a bountiful testimony to his building skills, inventiveness
and craftsmanship par excellence. Drop in for an evening, a few days or
more and experience the uniqueness of Cheticamp, our home and the friendly
folks on the Cabot Trail. |
